What is a Thread Lift?
While many men and women would like to lift the sagging or loose skin of their face, it's easy to feel hesitant about an invasive procedure, such as a full facelift. At Versailles Medical Spa in Darien, CT, we offer a minimally invasive procedure known as a thread lift in which absorbable sutures are inserted into the skin of the face in order to provide added lift without the need for surgery. This has proven to be an easy method to achieve tighter, younger-looking skin without the lengthy downtime and recovery process associated with a facelift. Our team is always happy to discuss any of our patients' lingering questions and concerns.
"I had the absolute best experience at Versailles medical spa. After just opening again, they are fully prepared to check for COVID 19 and even offer antibody tests upon arrival. I have not seen more than one other client in the place besides me which made me feel safe. I came for a consult with Marie for microblading, who immediately wowed me with her knowledge and expertise. I also decided to get a facial with Justine, during which I learned I had never had an actual facial until I met her. Today I went back for my microblading appointment and Marie lived up to every expectation and more. She was very purposeful with every action she made. Totally transformed my face. Versailles medical spa is reasonably priced and has every treatment under the sun. So impressed. Can’t stop looking at the menu for what other treatments I can get!"- J.C. / Google / May 27, 2020

Is a Thread Lift Right for Me?
First and foremost, patients must be in good general health in order to be considered for a thread lift. Additionally, most prospective patients are hoping to avoid invasive options, such as surgery, but would still like to improve the laxity of their facial skin. Ideal candidates for a thread lift will have:
- Mild-to-moderate loose skin
- Fine lines
- Asymmetrical facial features
How are Thread Lifts Performed?
During your initial consultation, our team will discuss your goals for the procedure before determining which threading option to utilize for your face. On the day of the procedure, our staff will mark your face with the entrance and exit points of the sutures. At this point, a local anesthetic will be injected into the targeted area to ensure your utmost comfort throughout the procedure. Finally, the absorbable sutures will be threaded through the designated entrance and exit points, lifting the facial skin along the way. From start to finish, this procedure usually lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.
What to Expect After a Thread Lift
Minor redness and bruising are not uncommon side effects following the procedure but usually subside on their own within 1 – 2 weeks. As time passes, the sutures will dissolve into the skin, which serves as a way to promote the production of collagen in the area. Most patients are able to return to work within three days of the procedure but should wait at least two weeks before performing physical activities, such as working out. The results of the procedure will vary from patient to patient, but most people see consistent improvements in their face for 2 – 3 years after undergoing a thread lift.
