About Chemical Peels
To provide the best results from chemical peel facial treatments, Versailles Medical Spa offers you several choices. Your professional chemical peel with exfoliating solutions, such as salicylic, glycolic, trichloroacetic, and lactic acids, will give you healthier, smoother skin. Our spa offers chemical peel treatments help improve skin irregularities, including scars, fine lines, wrinkles, rough patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels clear away damaged, dead skin cells using a specific solution that causes the visible layer of the skin to slough off. As your skin recovers and starts to rejuvenate and repair itself, you will notice a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel facial is a nonsurgical procedure that makes your complexion radiant and works for both the face and neck.
Variations of Chemical Peels
At Versailles Medical Spa in Darien, CT we offer chemical peels in multiple strengths (light, medium, and deep) to address our patients' skin care concerns.
Light peels: You can receive a light chemical peel during your lunch hour and resume your day. This strength of peel will remove the top layer of your skin, giving your complexion a more radiant appearance and softer texture. We typically suggest that you schedule a light chemical peel at least once a month for the ideal glowing results.
Medium-depth peels: This level of peel goes deeper into the skin, and you'll usually prefer this strength of facial treatment during a long weekend. You may also want to prepare yourself for increased discomfort during and around one hour after the peel. Medium-depth peels are best for patients who have deeper damage to their skin, like deeper wrinkles and darker pigmentation issues.
Deep peels: The strongest of the three types of peels is the deep chemical peel, and it will require the most recovery time. This is an aggressive procedure that may leave your face itchy, peeling, and swollen for several weeks. Patients who receive a deep chemical peel may have dark age spots, sun damage, significant acne scars, or deep scars. Since this level of peel is usually uncomfortable for patients, we can provide an anesthetic as a part of the treatment.
"Just finished my microblading-----looks very natural and color is perfect. It is amazing how everything changes "shape" as you get older (and of course that over plucking didn't help) and who wants to use an eyebrow pencil----not me! Great work and would recommend for anyone who wants natural looking eyebrows."- A.R. / Google / Feb 05, 2020

Is A Facial Peel For You?
Seeking the suggestions of an aesthetic specialist is the first step in the journey to healthy, smooth skin. During a consultation and before selecting a specific chemical peel, a team member at Versailles Medical Spa will evaluate your skin. Chemical peel candidates, both women and men, will have noticeable issues on their skin, including scaly patches, discoloration, flaky skin, wrinkles, fine lines, sun spots, and more. We will recommend different types of chemical peels to meet your needs.
During your appointment at Versailles Medical Spa, we will ask you to lie down in our comfortable treatment chair to administer your peel. A team member will ensure your skin is cleaned before applying the personalized solution to your face, neck, or both. We will brush the solution onto the skin and allow it to sit for a specific amount of time. At your consultation, we discuss how long the chemical peel remains on your face. Next, we wash the solution off your skin and apply a neutralizing agent. To protect your skin against UV exposure, patients should bring sunscreen and/or a hat to wear outside following the procedure.
Your Chemical Peel
Based on the type of chemical peel you receive, you should expect the treated area to feel dry, tight, itchy, and peel from a few days to several weeks. After your procedure, we will discuss how to care for your skin, which includes information about cleansing, moisturizing, and applying protective ointments. Please remember that no matter how much your skin itches throughout the post-treatment process, it is not a good idea to pick the skin off. You could cause scarring to your delicate skin!
