VARIATIONS OF CHEMICAL PEELS

A light chemical peel can easily fit into your lunch break, allowing you to return to your day with minimal downtime. This gentle treatment removes the outermost layer of your skin, revealing a brighter complexion and smoother texture. For optimal, long-lasting results, we recommend scheduling a light chemical peel at least once a month to maintain a radiant, glowing appearance.

This level of peel goes deeper into the skin, and you’ll usually prefer this strength of facial treatment during a long weekend. You may also want to prepare yourself for increased discomfort during and around one hour after the peel. Medium-depth peels are best for patients who have deeper damage to their skin, like deeper wrinkles and darker pigmentation issues.

The strongest of the three types of peels is the deep chemical peel, and it will require the most recovery time. This is an aggressive procedure that may leave your face itchy, peeling, and swollen for several weeks. Patients who receive a deep chemical peel may have dark age spots, sun damage, significant acne scars, or deep scars. Since this level of peel is usually uncomfortable for patients, we can provide an anesthetic as a part of the treatment.

Is FACIAL PEEL for you?

If you’re looking to improve skin texture, reduce acne scars, fade hyperpigmentation, or address signs of aging such as fine lines and sun damage, chemical peels are a transformative solution. These medical-grade treatments provide deep exfoliation and skin resurfacing, helping to rejuvenate and refresh your complexion. By targeting concerns like dullness, uneven tone, and skin imperfections, chemical peels can unveil smoother, clearer, and more radiant skin. Whether you’re battling acne scars or hyperpigmentation, consulting a skincare professional will ensure you choose the ideal peel for your unique needs. CHEMICAL PEEL FAQ

Quick answers to questions you may have

During your appointment at Versailles Medical Spa, we will ask you to lie down in our comfortable treatment chair to administer your peel. A team member will ensure your skin is cleaned before applying the personalized solution to your face, neck, or both. We will brush the solution onto the skin and allow it to sit for a specific amount of time. At your consultation, we discuss how long the chemical peel remains on your face. Next, we wash the solution off your skin and apply a neutralizing agent. To protect your skin against UV exposure, patients should bring sunscreen and/or a hat to wear outside following the procedure.

Based on the type of chemical peel you receive, you should expect the treated area to feel dry, tight, itchy, and peel from a few days to several weeks. After your procedure, we will discuss how to care for your skin, which includes information about cleansing, moisturizing, and applying protective ointments. Please remember that no matter how much your skin itches throughout the post-treatment process, it is not a good idea to pick the skin off. You could cause scarring to your delicate skin!

Even if you’ve never had professional facial treatments, Versailles Medical Spa will help you determine the ideal chemical peel for your skin type. Your newly revived skin will look healthy and feel caressingly soft. Call Versailles Medical Spa in Darien, CT to schedule your skin assessment.
